Over the course of 4 days, me and two of my friends participated in the GMTK 2026 Game Jam! Together we made the game "Crank It Up!, a short little game about starting your car to go as fast as possible. This was one of the first ever Game Jam's I've participated in, and I'm very proud of the work we did given our small team and limited time. You can find the link to the game listed above, at the top of the description.
For the project itself, Emil (https://www.emilmn.com/) was in charge of the Programming, Pamela (https://www.artstation.com/pamelasaavedrad-c) did all of the 2D Art as well as the 3D Environment Art. My responsibilities then was doing all of the 3D Prop Art, VFX, as well as also finding any attribution assets (such as audio). Overall given the time my work is... fine? It could definitely be a lot better! I am still learning Godot at the moment, but I'm finding my way around the software a lot faster; It's like Unity in a lot of ways, but also like Unreal's Niagara in a lot of other ways. It's an... interesting combination, and I'm not sure what my personal opinion on it is yet. I think I'm most proud of the effect that occurs when you reach high speeds, both on the UI Indicator and outside the car, as well as the little shockwave from spinning the crank.
Check out the game! It'd be pretty cool :)
